one more day of fun

brian had a fun day of golf with jeff and jody (new zealand friends) at a very difficult golf course (ko'olua). many golf balls were lost, american pride was kept intact.

wednesday we went for a drive around oahu. up coast to the north shore, down through pineapple country to aloha stadium for swap meet shopping. hudson got a ukulele which he is a pro at playing already. from there we stopped by the punchbowl, drove through waikiki to hanauma bay, then back up east coast to lanikai.

thursday we spent the morning at beach by our house, got some great sun in and enjoyed the crystal clear water. hudson was so relaxed he fell asleep when kelley was holding him and took a nap. in the afternoon we drove to hoomaluhia botanical gardens and saw some nice tropical plants. had scattered downpours in the afternoon which made gramma buh happy.

packing up tonight, leaving our happy little house in the morning and spending afternoon with hope & co. then red eye back to boring portland.

hawaii blog

blogging from hawaii, we're in lanikai for a week with grandma buh.

we rented a small house that's about 5 min walk to the beach, nice view of water and islands (the grey house at end of road)

he likes looking out the window at dog across road and boys playing below. also enjoys putting his easter eggs through the slats

first day was nice but overcast. 2nd day kelley's friend from new zealand hope & her family visited for the day. they're visiting hawaii for 2 weeks same time we're here. fun day at the beach with them, a lot more sun today.

hudson has no fear of the water, swim classes paying off so far.

more to come, we're here till friday night. then a long, depressing red eye home to Portland. Wish rest of family and friends could be here too to enjoy the sun!

nanna came out for easter. easter bunny brought hudson some fun treats and toys and rainy weather.

one really nice day we went to a tulip festival about 45mins south of portland (www.woodenshoe.com). Had some fun kid activities, acres of tulips in bloom, lots of weird bugs, a really nice garden, a friendly dog that hudson got to pet, and elephant ears!

finally he decided on a cow-train ride. he let mom tag along.

really nice garden area that hudson had fun crawling around in, getting muddy, and trying to attack flowers. most fun he's had in a long time. can't wait till we get dry, warm, and sunny in portland

Nanna got Hudson a slide for his birthday that we waited to open until she came to visit. Will be outdoor slide as soon as the weather gets nicer.
